Welcome to Sur 21 Café

General Info

I stumbled upon Sur 21 Café, tucked into the vibrant heart of F3XX+9H3, Caracas 1015, Distrito Capital, and from the first moment it felt like one of those café experiences you want to share. Walking in on a lazy afternoon, the smell of freshly brewed coffee greeted me right away-definitely a place where you can relax or dive into a quiet conversation without any rush.

This warm, casual cafe has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike because of its laid‑back vibe and a menu that blends comfort with creativity. One of the first things I ordered was their tequeños, those golden, cheese‑filled Venezuelan classics that are crispy on the outside and irresistibly gooey inside. They pair perfectly with a capuchino while you people‑watch or flip through your phone.

If you’re craving something heartier, the hamburguesas de la casa are a must. These house burgers are juicy, loaded with fresh toppings, and just the kind of dish that hits the spot after a long day of exploring Caracas. For seafood lovers, the pisillo de camaron stands out as a special treat-flavorful shrimp that’s rich, seasoned just right, and satisfying without feeling heavy.

Another highlight I can’t skip is their dessert combo of café con leche y torta marmoleada. Pouring that warm, creamy coffee alongside a slice of marbled cake is one of those simple pleasures that instantly makes your day better. Whether you’re journaling, chatting with friends, or just taking a breather, it’s a perfect pairing.

Beyond the dishes, Sur 21 Café offers a great tea selection and refreshing cocktails, catering to a variety of tastes any time of day. Their environment feels intentionally quiet but welcoming, which makes it ideal for tourists who want to savor Venezuelan café culture or locals looking for a comfortable spot to unwind. NFC mobile payments are also accepted, so settling the bill is hassle‑free and modern.

What really sets this location apart is the way it blends authentic local flavors with a relaxed mood. The casual menu and friendly service make it feel like a hidden gem rather than just another stop on the dining map. Plus, the menu strikes a balance between beloved Venezuelan staples and approachable café favorites, making it a delightful stop whether you’re on a food adventure or just in the mood for something comforting.

What customers say?

“ I didn't try the food but the atmosphere is super alternative and cool, good music, super artistic decoration, plus at least the day I went there was a small bazaar at the entrance and a creative whiteboard activity which was what I attended and it was super cool. ”

- Kare Arevalo -

“ The place is comfortable and very pleasant. The prices are fair and the food is delicious. They have events, and they're very good. ”

- Anthony Barrera -

“ Excellent service, very good food, cozy atmosphere, and affordable prices. The coffee is very good and the mojitos are world-class. ”

- Grey Infante -

“ It's a spacious, comfortable, and beautiful place. They don't sell mid-range rum, only low-range, which I found absurd. The music is good, and it's a place to chat and have a good time. If you're not going to drink beer , my recommendation is to bring your own bottle and pay for the corkage. I don't know the price. ”

- Johan Córdova -

“ Everything was great, the service was excellent, congratulations! ”

“ A nice place to chat, they serve good cocktails, tasty coffee, and a variety of snacks. It's also interesting for its decor and the opportunity it provides for visual artists to exhibit their work and make themselves known. It's definitely a good place to hang out. ”

- ORIANA GUTIERREZ GARCIA (OriPluie) -

“ I really liked it. The tequeños were very good and freshly made. The tapas were delicious. Perfect for having beer and mojitos with friends, all kinds of casual drinks. The prices are reasonable. Live music and shows. The atmosphere is pleasant. The downside is that the service is slow and the waiters are a bit inattentive to customers. ”

- Laura Ramos Granados -

“ It's a different, elegant place. Just for the walk to Central Park, it would be worth it. It's well-staffed, and there's security at the entrance. The latter is important because it allows you to enjoy your visit without worries. I had a cold beer, really cold. The lounge is a spacious and pleasant space. The background music and its moderate volume encourage relaxation and conversation. It has a movie theater, and I was told they'll resume showing movies soon. Sur 21 could establish itself as one of those cultural spaces we so desperately need. I hope the movie program offers us not only new releases, but also auteur films and classics. Theater performances are also planned. I wish them the best of luck and continued success. ”
